October is American Pharmacists Month

Launched officially in 2004, American Pharmacist Month highlights pharmacists' contributions to healthcare and their positive impact in our communities. 

According to the Gallup poll, Pharmacists have always been one of the most trusted and accessible healthcare professionals. Our role as pharmacists in the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana program has undoubtedly expanded beyond some of the pharmacist's traditionally most well-known duties, such as dispensing prescription medications. 

At Maitri, our board-certified pharmacists are seasoned professionals bringing experience from retail, specialty, sales, hospital, and compounding pharmacy. They are also well-educated and trained experts in Medical Marijuana (MMJ). The dispensary pharmacist is a pioneer and has blazed a new path and specialty pharmacy practice in Medical Marijuana. By drawing on their education in pharmacology, our pharmacists help bridge a complex plant science and medicinal alternative with our patient's health and wellness goals. 

Our pharmacists are committed to offering a safe space where all are welcome to share their journey to Medical Marijuana free of stigma. We are in service to our patients and our Maitri community to elevate the value of this complex medicinal alternative through compassionate education and support. 

Our pharmacy consultation service is a wonderful opportunity to use the knowledge of a medication expert. It is available at no charge whether you are a new patient or experienced with your medical marijuana therapy. No time for a consultation? Just have a quick question?  The pharmacy team is available during regular business hours. Though appointments are highly suggested, they are not required. A phone consultation is a great convenient alternative or send us a message on our website – we would love to hear from you.

As pharmacists, we know each person is unique and responds differently to this amazing plant. We work with our patients one on one to understand their wellness goals to recommend products, suggest appropriate dosing and advise on the proper administration to fit your individual needs. We also help by reviewing your health history and prescribed medications to evaluate any potential drug or disease interactions. We encourage follow-up and light check-ins with our pharmacy team to ensure your product choices are optimal in improving your symptoms and minimizing any unwanted side effects.
